One of the best ways to get your name out is with Social media pages. When you make a FB Page, you can use it to sign up for various groups, that gives you a very nice marketing pool to work from. There are hundreds of Reborn Sales places on FB, and when you sign up for them with you business page, you can use that to advertise your babies. Make sure you read and follow the rules of each list. Sometimes it helps to make lists of Groups that require posting to specific threads; other lists require a safety photo with every baby for sale, and a few I’ve found don’t ALLOW safety photos. So when you create your ad, be careful to submit the ads to the correct lists. And don’t forget, there are more than just reborn groups. Many Yardsale groups are listed on FB as well as General Sales and non-reborn doll sales Groups. Do your research and find places that have a large number of followers (I use 1.2k) as my base, but you can choose higer or lower. I’ve even found other Reborners by posting on Local Yardsale Groups. Remember also, when you create a post for Facebook, you have the option of also creating the same basic ad on Instagram. A “two-fer” to speak. Building followings on Social Media are good ways to build a reputation and a following. And a good reputation and large following leads to higher sales and better visibility. Other social media such as TikTok, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest are also helpful, but I don’t think the value of FB can be ignored. You can also make a FB Groups and invite people….either an announcement only group or a a open style group in which people are free to post their babies, get help or information, etc. Emphasize your specialties, knowledge and achievements. If you are REALLY good at something, say drawing eyebrows, consider making a FB Group about putting eyebrows on a reborn. Before you post Group, however, get hte approval of the Group owner.
Another option is Etsy, Reborns.com, Ebay, etc. These “paid” site have the benefit of having large followers already in place that will see your items. They also have larger costs in fees, etc TO be fair, FB Marketplace has fees too, and anything (pretty much) you list to FB is put on Marketplace. Another option, either stand alone or in addition to the above, is a website. http://WWW.Yournursery. com, or www. yournursery . wordpress. com or what ever. You can maintain a website and use the othe sites to advertise (though read the TOS of each place FIRST to make sure you are following the rules). One of the positives I’ve found doing this is the ability to post all the babies photos so you can simply refer people to the website if they want additional photos. It does save time, BUT some people don’t WANT to go to a website. Since I also list on Reborns . com I simply send people to my babies page on there from my website for purchase. You can use one of the online payment sites to accept payment directly on your website. You can also use your website for other things like a blog if you have things you want to share. So…a web presence can be extremely helpful. And free or not hugely expensive as well. One thing that is extremely helpful for establishing a web presence is a banner…but that’s a story for another day.
